Our long standing mission at Lucid has been to provide building owners, operators, and users with the tools and insights to improve the operations and performance of their buildings. Together with Acuity, we see the opportunity to expand each other’s reach, capabilities, and applications to power the transition to truly connected, intelligent, and responsive buildings.
What does this mean for Lucid and it’s customers? Great things. Since its founding 13 years ago, Lucid has advanced the ability for building owners, managers, and occupants to find powerful insights into the resources being consumed by their buildings. For over 500+ customers, across 15,000 buildings and 1.5 billion square feet of space, we now manage more commercial square footage than all the office space in New York, San Francisco, Washington, DC and Boston combined. We started with energy and have reduced energy consumption by as much as 50% for some customers, removing millions of tons of carbon from the atmosphere, and helping companies and organizations gain better control of energy costs. Over the years we have gone well beyond energy to connect the data streams inside buildings that matter most to owners and occupiers. Our BuildingOS platform now integrates with over 180 different building data systems from sub-meters to modern sensor networks and from utility data to facility management solutions.
We have found that our customers are asking deeper and more sophisticated questions of their building data. Most start with just wanting to get a handle on expenses, anomalies or trends, but many are seeking now to integrate broader data sets and IoT sensor networks, and using this data to uncover insights about both building performance and the business, activities, and people that rely on buildings. This is why we are so excited to be joining with Acuity Technology Group and the advanced sensor network and control capabilities they provide.
Acuity’s innovative digital lighting-based sensory networks and Atrius software platform, combined with the intelligence and power of BuildingOS will unlock new levels of insight and value for building operators, owners, and occupants. Acuity’s global footprint and channels will help bring BuildingOS to a greater number of buildings around the world. Lucid’s customer base and relationships will help uncover opportunities for advanced lighting and sensor solutions. Together we will open new applications to the market.
