Lucid takes home two awards at Illinois Entrepreneur Showcase

June 30, 2016

The State of Illinois is focused on becoming THE platform for innovators and disruptors in big data, cybersecurity & IoT in this rapidly approaching next tech wave.

States, companies, real estate groups, and higher education institutions all operate in different markets, but when it comes to buildings and technology most organizations have similar goals: identify and utilize technology that enables greater efficiency at low cost. As the State of Illinois seeks to deploy more advanced technology and improve its operations, it creates unique ways to seek out innovative products and companies. On June 14, the Illinois Department of Commerce hosted an Entrepreneur Showcase focused on Innovation & Technology to bring new ideas into the mix.

Vladi Shunturov, Lucid’s President and Cofounder, represented Lucid as one of ten innovative and disruptive tech companies chosen to fast-pitch our product and ideas related to cyber security, big data, collaboration technologies and IoT. Each company had 15 minutes to present their product to a panel of experts.

Panel members included Hardik Bhatt - CIO of the State of Illinois, Randy Kowalski - Innovation & Technology Deputy Director at the Illinois Department of Commerce, Patrick Finn - CEO of Finn Advisors, and others from government, business, science, and academia. The panel discussed the quickly emerging Illinois IoT ecosystem, evaluated each company’s pitch, and voted on the Best Overall Presentation award.

We’re proud to say that Lucid took home both awards at the Entrepreneur Showcase: Best Overall Presentation and People’s Choice.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by the State of Illinois for the work we’re doing,” says Vladi Shunturov. “More organizations are realizing the need for greater efficiency and productivity, and we’re proud to be able to help them on that journey.”
